Two More Sleeps!11 June 2009
To World Wide Knit In Public Day.
If you don’t know about this yet, shame on you! And if you live within travelling distance of Sydney, do come and join us.
Bayside Lounge, Darling Harbour (next to the Convention Centre), Saturday, 1.30 – 5pm.
We knit (or crochet), eat, drink and chat. Meet new people. Catch up with those you haven’t seen since last year’s event. Buy the ‘official’ WWKIP Sydney canvas bag ($7), complete with David’s wonderful logo (which incidentally is now being used by 8 WWKIP events across the country, with changed wording of course), win door prizes and enter a competition.
The prizes are wonderful! A $50 gift voucher and set of Harmony Interchangeable needles from Morris & Sons, a 4 issue subscription to Australian Knitting magazine (donated by the magazine), a Colinette Jitterbug sock kit (yarn, needles and pattern) from Sarah Durrant, a scarf kit (180g of coordinating yarn and pattern) from Kaalund Yarns, and two of Pru Mapstone’s books, donated by her (and signed of course).
The competition prize is a basket absolutely overflowing – Kaalund, Handmaiden and all sorts of really lovely yarns. I haven’t counted the number of skeins (because I was worried I may accidentally pocket one!). A prize any knitter will REALLY love. And that was donated by the lovely Debbie at Mosman Needlecraft. I called it “The Inaugural Mosman Needlecraft Prize” in the hope that she’d take the hint for next year!
So all we need now is YOU! There is no cost involved (except what you may want to spend on food or drinks).
I’m really looking forward to it and hope to see loads of you there.
ETA: Another prize has just come in! A gift voucher from Celia to shop at Celia’s Basket (http://celiasbasket.com) Thank you.
ETA (Again): The lovely Sue at Cherryhills yarn shop has today kindly donated a gift voucher. Thank you, Sue!! Technorati Tags: WWKIP
