A Great Dinner

18 October 2010

Tonight David and I had a really terrific dinner without putting much of a dent in our housekeeping budget.

Friends had suggested that we join them in the restaurant at Ryde TAFE (TAFE = Technical and Further Education), where the catering students practise their skills.

So we had a 3-course meal, with a choice of three dishes for each course, followed by coffee and petit fours.  The restaurant was well laid out, the service was excellent, the food was very good.  I started with a prawn and scallop salad, followed by lamb en croute and chocolate mousse.

And it cost $30 a head!  Which included wine (fruit juice for me as I don’t drink).

Well worth a visit – or maybe your local TAFE has a similar restaurant.

  1. Thanks for the tip. Is it the one on Blaxland Road?

  2. Thanks for the reminder, yes, our local Tafe has a restaurant and I have been meaning to try it!
