A Sad Day
10 April 2011Today, 9th April, my mother died in Harrogate. With both her daughters there and the most wonderful nursing care you could imagine.
She was 90 and in good health until very recently so didn’t suffer a long and painful illness.
When I return to Australia, I’ll post some pictures of her (so you can see what I’ll look likee when I’m 90!)
Sally, I’m sorry for your loss. Even at 90, it’s too early to go. It was good both you and your sister could be with her.

Sally, I’m sorry to read about your mother’s death. But glad (although that seems the wrong word) that you both could be with her and that she had only a short illness and excellent care. Hope you are doing ok and looking after yourself.
by RoseRed 10 April 2011 at 7:55 amHow wonderful that you and your sister could be there with her at the end. Sending you my deepest heartfelt condolences.
And a small part of me is saying “Wow! 90!” Was indeed a good innings.
by ginger_nut 10 April 2011 at 8:10 amIt’s never easy when a family member dies but it would have been much worse if you hadn’t been there. I am pleased for her that she didn’t suffer. My sympathy to you and your family.

by Janalee 28 April 2011 at 2:06 pmI am sorry for your loss. I learned about your mother’s illness through Sticks & String, and came here to see how she was doing. While I am sorry to miss your comments on the Easter Show, I am happy that you were able to make it to England in time to see your mom before she passed away. 90 is an inspiring milestone.
