A Sad Day

10 April 2011

Today, 9th April, my mother died in Harrogate. With both her daughters there and the most wonderful nursing care you could imagine.

She was 90 and in good health until very recently so didn’t suffer a long and painful illness.

When I return to Australia, I’ll post some pictures of her (so you can see what I’ll look likee when I’m 90!)

  1. Sally, I’m sorry for your loss. Even at 90, it’s too early to go. It was good both you and your sister could be with her.
    My thoughts are with you

And a small part of me is saying “Wow! 90!” Was indeed a good innings.

  24. Sally, I’m so sad to read of your mother’s death. How fortunate you went to the UK when you did so you could share this last time with her. I think becoming the ‘senior’ within your family’s generations is a big thing. Look after yourself.

  28. Sally,
I am sorry for your loss. I learned about your mother’s illness through Sticks & String, and came here to see how she was doing. While I am sorry to miss your comments on the Easter Show, I am happy that you were able to make it to England in time to see your mom before she passed away. 90 is an inspiring milestone.
