WWKIP – We Did It!
13 June 2010One of my first thoughts after my accident was WWKIP (honestly!). I was in the middle of organising everything and how was I going to get it all together in time. Then I had the usual fears (paranoia?) about whether anyone would turn up.
So how did it go?
Firstly, I called on friends to help. Thank you so much Tia and Kate for all your help.
Secondly, I hardly had to ask anyone for prizes – individuals and companies contacted me to donate wonderful knitting goodies.
Yarn Magazine came up trumps by sponsoring the event. And Mosman Needlecraft gave us a fantastic, very expensive, basket of wonderful gifts as our main prize.
And thirdly, the knitters and crocheters of Sydney turned out – 92 of them!
This was probably the longest day of activity I’ve had in the last few weeks and boy was I tired. But I loved every minute of it and I hope everyone else enjoyed the day.

You did a fantastic job of organising everything Sally, it was a lovely day, and extremely well run!
Thanks for all your hard work.
by Lara 13 June 2010 at 10:32 amI had a great day Sally and hope you did too. Thanks so much for organising, and thanks to Tia and Kate too for helping. Like you, I haven’t seen many of my knitting friends for a while (or been out of the house much either) so it was lovely to get together with so many knitters. Thanks again.
by Rose Red 13 June 2010 at 11:36 amI’m so glad it went so well – I was quite worried about whether you’d be in a fit state for it. 92 was a terrific turnout! And thanks to your helpers.

by LynS 13 June 2010 at 6:49 pmI wanted to come! Sadly, I live in Victoria, and can’t really run off on my three little kids for the day… sigh!! Ü
